Actually, we are all so thankful she didn't enroll us in school. Being taught at home has helped us all become closer to Jesus and the saints in heaven. The two oldest our now in college, and they both said it helped them (being home schooled) with their classes. I love being home schooled, and I believe I have gotten a better education then most kids my age. I have a hard times learning things and remembering them, and my mom, recognizing that, molded my schooling to just how I need it. That would never happen in public school! Although my mom says that my writing is very well done, there is one mistake I always make: I always write "home school" as one word: homeschool! You are doing everything right is all I can say! I'm glad you like it, and good luck for the future years :) Teresianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188078120365131355.post-37271894473948374292013-10-30T10:21:50.442-04:002013-10-30T10:21:50.442-04:00A possible Sadie solution from my home school days...A possible Sadie solution from my home school days:

Keep a nice sane (brisk but sane) pace on the official curriculum, then, using the library, have Sadie choose something to study.

Let her select the books, and do the reading and create something, a paper, a painting, a project, a notebook, whatever she finds best, produce something to show what she has learned.

My parents let me get stacks of books from the library and I read and studied to my hearts content. I have always found the dual track of regular lessons and personally chosen unit studies to be highly satisfactory.

Anyway, just wanted to put that out there in case it could be just the thing to fit your little scholar. They have already started educating him in so many little ways every day.

I so wish that there had been more support for homeschooling when my girls were little - it would have fit so well with our crazy schedule due to their dad's unusual work hours and limits on time off due to TV ratings periods, etc. We took as many field trips as possible, always took them with us when we traveled, encouraged reading, and tried to expose them to as many new experiences and places as possible. Both of our girls did quite well in our Catholic schools, but I am just a little envious of your homeschooling adventures.dixieaglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12923834034976250382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188078120365131355.post-47221036427185668592013-10-29T10:23:54.076-04:002013-10-29T10:23:54.076-04:00I love that you love homeschooling so much! My best friend just started homeschooling her kids and there are days when my kids get home from school and still have at a minimum an hours worth of homework to do that I question why I'm not homeschooling them.Beth Cotellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14536268080265726705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188078120365131355.post-6296287524946891162013-10-29T09:04:23.761-04:002013-10-29T09:04:23.761-04:00Thank you for sharing! I'm a little nervous at times about handling everything.Vernahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06478658669344479650noreply@blogger.com
