Outside it looks like this and while I've been doing my best to tell myself that the 40 degree temperatures "didn't mean that winter was over" and that "we were probably going to get more snow" I was still struggling against being upset when I looked outside and saw that the giant puddles from yesterday must not only be frozen but were now coated with a solid half foot of snow (that's my best guess, I haven't gone out to measure). That was four hours ago and it's been snowing steadily since.
Still... It could be worse (for me anyways). We have power and heat. We aren't sweltering in 80 degree heat in December (and I definitely still prefer a seasonal winter to perpetual summer, because I'm weird like that).
I keep reminding myself, we need winter and summer if we're going to get to my two favorite seasons, spring and autumn (especially autumn). And they will get here. Eventually. (It helps to point that out to myself at least twice a day).
In totally unrelated news I think I need to start posting a Maggie Outfit of the Week. Because the kid loves picking out what she's going to wear. She knows what she likes and what she doesn't.
And because she was in fine form this morning, picking out her clothes, I'll start today.
She picked out a pink leotard over a cupcake sleeper with a pink crown (she's really into crowns these days). The only surprise is that she didn't accessorize with pink cowboy boots.
And that is our very first Maggie Outfit of the Week. She's currently walking around the house singing "Row, row, row your boat" and enjoying a snow day from doing her "school" work.
I hope that those of you enduring this winter storm are staying warm and that those of you in warmer climates are enjoying the sunshine for the rest of us!
