For the Month of August!

Does anyone have a novena that they particularly love for job hunts?  At the moment Paul is applying just about everywhere, from restaurants to stores to law firms to car dealerships to government jobs, but the wait (and the looming rent payment on the horizon) has me more than a little jumpy at the moment.  In the past few years you'd think I'd begun to learn to start trusting that things have had a way of working out, but at the moment I'm spending way too much energy fretting and searching job listings and sending him about two dozen emails a day with job listings I've found on every single website I can think of.

So... in the interest of doing something to keep from going crazy, I'm hosting a sale in my shops.  For headcovering savings just enter in the coupon code: AugustSave10 at checkout in my shop A Snood for All Seasons and you'll save 10%!

For my Quilt Shop use the code AugustSave20 to save 20% off of my baby quilts, blankets and anything else in Mae Bae's!

So if you're in the market for blankets or headcoverings now is a great time to shop!

And if you feel like sharing this sale I would greatly appreciate it!  Thank you!

  1. I recently finished one for help in selling our house to Our Lady of Good Remedy. I heard about it from Heather: http://www.mamaknowshoneychild.com/2014/07/five-favorites-4/
Will pray that a job offer comes through soon!

  2. Do you do any custom aprons? I inherited a wrap around apron from my grandmother which I love because it covers me from collarbone to knees on all sides(I am a really messy cook). She died in '77 and the fabric is starting to disintegrate not to mention that she was a shade over 5 feet and 100 lbs(which made it fit me at age 11)and I am 5'6" and just under 150 as well as rather busty. I would love a clone of this apron but my simple sewing skills panic at the darts on the chest.

  3. St. Joseph: http://www.ourladyswarriors.org/prayer/joseph.htm

This is our favorite for job searches, housing, etc. St. Joseph hasn't let us down :-)

  4. Cammie, I'm not even joking when I say that we've been doing novenas and praying job hunts for the last 2 years...straight. We've basically done one novena right after another...and some over and over again. Our Lady of Good Remedy, Our Lady Undoer or Knots, St. Joseph, St. Jude, St Rita, St. Cajetan, St. Thomas More, St. Josemaria. My strategy is to basically bother just about every single saint I can think of. LOL

  5. Well, St. Anthony is always my "go to" saint. I know there is a novena to him, but I have never done it, but I have prayed the following every day until the need is met. So here it is:
    Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony

O St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for his creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I ask you to obtain for me the favors that I seek (mention your request here).

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was full of sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus, who loved to be held in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever by yours. Amen.

I will begin to pray for Paul to find a GOOD job ASAP!
    God bless. ~ Bonnie

  7. I was halfway through praymorenovenas's Novena to St. Joseph when I found a job. I too was struggling with looming student loan debt payment and feeling very burnt out from the whole law school bar exam thing. The job was only one of my many worries at the time - and then my prayers were answered so quickly! Definitely a shock for me.

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
