A Goodbye

I always have so many words bouncing around in my head, too many words perhaps.  Not today though.

I got a call last night that my nephew Nick had been killed in a car accident yesterday morning and that my beautiful sister, who should be busy planning her wedding in the coming months, will be burying her clever, handsome, funny, second born son.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated, especially for my sister and nephews and niece as the family grieves this great loss.  A memorial fund has also been set up here.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace.  Amen.

  5. So, so sorry for your loss. You, your sister, her family, and especially Nick, will be in my prayers.

    In Paradisum
"May the angels lead him into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome him and take him to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. May choirs of angels welcome him and lead him to the bosom of Abraham; and where Lazarus is poor no longer. May he find eternal rest." amen

    God bless. ~ Bonnie

    1. Thank you Patience! I can't imagine it either. I keep thinking of how I felt at the news and then imagine how much harder it must be for them... just heartbreaking.

  13. Cammie, I am so sorry for your loss. I've said a prayer for your nephew's soul.

As I've probably mentioned on here before, I lived in Fort Worth for seven years. If you are planning on going to the funeral and have any questions about the area or anything like that that I might be able to help with, please ask away here and I'll do my best to answer. :)

    1. Thank you so much Katherine!

I wish so much I was going to be able to come down. We tried to figure out a way to work it out, but with Paul's new job he can't ask for time off just yet... and so there'd be no one to watch Maggie...

  20. Thank you Cammie for this post. Your uncle R often doesn't check his email for long stretches so we wouldn't have known if I didn't follow your blog.
    Love to all. Aunt M
