Daily Dose of Cuteness: A Couple of Sadie Moments

Here are a few of the latest Sadie moments. She has us laughing constantly these days.

The first began with a rather unfortunate situation. When Nani got home from the market with Mae's Dora birthday cake she momentarily forgot that our cat, Delilah, is pretty destructive. Nani put the cake on the dining room table and turned. A second later when she looked back she found that Delilah was sitting on the cake (which, thank goodness for small miracles, was still in the box... although the box lid had collapsed leaving a kitty imprint on the top of the cake). When Sadie arrived at Nani's house for Mae's birthday party, she was fascinated by the incident. She quickly came up with a story to go along with it. It went something like this:

Sadie: "Dee sat on Mae Bae's cake..."
Me: "...but I heard..." (a new Sadie phrase I've borrowed lately)
Sadie: "That Mae Bae pulled Dee's hair."
Me: "And?"
Sadie: "Her tail."
Me: "And?"
Sadie: "Her ears!"
Me: "And?"
Sadie: "Her whiskers!"
Me: "So then..."
Sadie: "Dee sat on Mae Bae's cake!"

We hadn't realized it was a vendetta between Mae and Delilah!

In reality it isn't. Delilah usually doesn't let Mae get close enough to her for an incident to occur (although she lets Sadie hang all over her). She's been suspicious of Mae since Mae was a squirming, crying newborn, but Sadie thinks the story of the one time, months ago, when Mae snuck up on Delilah and grabbed her fur, is hugely important. And apparently in Sadie's mind the cake-sitting-incident was premeditated by the cat.

Then there was lunch today:

Sadie (eyeing Nani's bologna sandwich): "I want a hotdog too!"
Nani: "It's not a hotdog."
Sadie: "Well it looks like a hotdog!"
Nani: (lets Sadie taste the sandwich)
Sadie: "Well it tastes like a hotdog!"

In other news it looks like we're on the mend from the earlier food poisoning incident. I went to the doctor today and she agreed that it seemed to be food poisoning but that I seemed to be getting better (I'm supposed to go to the ER if it gets bad again... and certain symptoms appear... since it's food poisoning I'll spare you the gory details...). In not so good news, it looks like Sadie's got a bit of it too... She had a rough afternoon and I'm praying she's 100% in the morning!

  6. I hope you both feel better soon!

I don't remember why, but I remember reading somewhere that it was better to manually add your posts to facebook, then to allow them to be automatically added. Sorry that's not really helpful, but I haven't done this for my blog yet as I am still trying to get established. If I come across it again, I'll let you know.

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
