Coming Soon!
I finished my pattern for thick, hair covering headbands last night and I'm really excited with how they turned out. The lace ones, like this one, are going to be $8 in my shop (the cotton and linen will be the same price) and the Dupioni silk ones will be $10 (they aren't up yet!).

So pretty :) any other colors coming?
ReplyDeleteI love these! Extra wide headbands are my preferred method of covering. In fact i just came back from Mass and i have one on my head right now! I like them because they are inconspicuous... Literally no one in my parish covers and I haven't gotten around to telling my mother (whose Catholic and comes to Mass with me but deinitelyf doesn't cover - I'm 17) that I feel drawn to cover my head before the Blessed Sacrament. Actually, the only covering I currently wear to Mass are headbands that look just like this only a bit wider. One is black and one is white - I found them at Forever 21 much to my pleasant surprise! I've gone back to check if they ever have more, but no luck so far.
ReplyDeleteThis post is quite the coincidence because I literally just set up my sewing machine and some scraps of fabric to improvise some wide headbands!
That's so funny, I just started making stretch headbands last night, using interlock knits. Don't worry, I won't be making lace though :). Great minds think alike.
ReplyDeleteMaria-
ReplyDeleteI love your hair accessories! One of my thoughts as I was posting this morning was: "When one of these sells, I'm totally going to be buying that red flower from Maria's store!!! I love it! And thank you for Sadie's flower! I keep meaning to steal a few minutes to send you an email (coming soon!).
If our headbands get successful (or even if they don't!) we could always form an etsy group! :)
And there should be lots more colors coming soon! I just got in a huge order of lace ands I'm cutting it up into headband and snood piles so I can just keep sewing as fast as I possibly can! I really want to get 100 items up on my shop before we move!
ReplyDeleteHehe, I was just thinking, if one of these flowers sells, I can buy more snoods from Cam...
ReplyDeleteThe thought of forming an etsy group with you is something I thought of this morning when I saw this post. I don't really want to compete with you, but we do make some complementary items, so maybe we could just work together. Well, I'll have to do some research to see what is involved. Oh, and by the way I love all things lace including your headband. I can't wait to see your lace snoods too.
Cam, these are pretty! I hope to be able to afford a few. Looking forward to seeing more pictures!
ReplyDeleteI definitely think of our shops as complementary Maria (I wouldn't mind if you were making lace headbands!). There are so many headbands out there and they're all so different! And I think there's a big draw since they're less obvious than veils and snoods!
ReplyDeleteI keep checking your shop to see what you come up with next!
Although after this last lace order I know I should be waiting for at least a little bit before I do any more shopping (at least until sales pick up! I've heard that it's kind of slow at the start of summer because people are outside and I think that is true!)!
So cute!!! And did I just see something about lace snoods?
ReplyDeleteThere should be more lace snoods up soon! I just got a shipment of lace and I've been pinning all night tonight! I came up with a new pattern for lace snoods last night that I'm really excited about (it cuts down the time it takes to make them which means I'm going to be able to drop the price to about $15 a snood) and I really like the look of this particular pattern! I wore my first experimental one to Mass today!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling it's going to be a busy week of sewing getting them ready to be posted! As soon as they're up I'll post pictures here too!
Those look so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, those lace headbands are beautiful! My husband just started a new job but once we are back on our feet I am definitely getting a few of those!
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
I would definitely buy one of these for my daughter- she wants to cover like me, but a mantilla is a bit "much" for a 10-year-old (her opinion).
