A Few Long Days...

We made it safely to Florida. Our new home is beautiful. We definitely have more elbow room here and I'm finding that I really don't mind the humidity (no one else seems to agree with me!).

We spent our first full day in Florida in the ER. Everyone there was very kind.

We discovered that our little saint was born into heaven sometime this week, between the ultrasound at the hospital in California on the 4th and the ultrasound at the hospital on the 9th. I was 14 weeks pregnant the day we discovered what had happened.

Thank you all for the prayers. Now for more unpacking while trying not to do too much.

  1. My condolences and prayers for your family.

I know those I have lost early are with Jesus and so much better off, but I am a selfish person and wish I could have had them here with me.

    Be gentle on yourself.

  8. No words, just a cyber hug, and prayers. Under like circumstances, a priest whom I love-like-a-brother said, "I don't know what to say. . .but now you have an intersessor in Heaven. . .does that help?" I don't remember if it did at the time, but now it does, years later, at least for me.

Take good care in this heart-wrenching time. love -

  11. Oh Cam, I'm so sorry. :( :(

I'm that middle-aged, adoptive mom Lutheran woman from PA, who posts once in a blue moon, but reads your blog very, very, very often. I hadn't been around much lately because my mother had a heart attack two weeks ago and is recovering at our house. I only started catching up on your blog yesterday. ... I'm so, so, so sorry. :(

You know I don't post much here, but may I tell you something? Something that maybe I can give you? Your blog was what brought me back to praying the way I should. I say that with complete honesty. ... And I'm praying for you and the little one now. :(

Praying for you, praying for your strength with so much on your plate while dealing with the loss of a very loved little soul who blessed all in your life, and here on your blog. My family will be remembering your little one, and I'm so glad we could all share in your joy for the weeks it was known to us, for life is always worth celebrating - a day, 8 weeks, 14 weeks, 99 years....

  24. Oh the pure joy of seeing the Face of the Creator. Being born into Heaven in the tender arms of an overjoyed Guardian Angel.

May you forever feel the prayers this little soul offers you, and may the siblings left behind grow up with the faith that they have a special prayer warrior all their own with Jesus.

My love is yours, my prayers are yours, and my next Mass will be for all your intentions.

    <3 {hug} <3

You are blessed with wisdom, Cam, and I know that even though you are in pain, you are at peace in your faith. May blessings continue to rain upon you and yours as the Blessed Mother holds you close.

  34. I have been reading about this turn of events for the past few days, and have been so devastated for you at the same time as I'm absolutely heartened by your graceful response to suffering. I've never met you, but that doesn't matter - I cried many tears while I prayed for your family. I pray that the Blessed Mother especially can pour God's grace on you, because she so personally knows what it means to surrender a beloved child. I pray that peace over this loss finds you and never leaves you.

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
