Sadie: "I want to see the new baby in your tummy."
Me: "Remember the new baby isn't in my tummy anymore."
Sadie: "The new baby in your tummy!"
Me: "The new baby is..."
Sadie: "In heaven with Jesus!"
Me: "Yes."
Sadie: "We can have another baby!"
Me: "Yes."
Sadie: "And the new baby will be Mary!"
Me: "Or..."
Sadie: (a long pause) "Patrick!"
She's awfully determined about this whole family of little sisters thing. She also has taken a sudden interest in the American Girl Baby doll that Nani gave her a couple of Christmas' ago and fell asleep cradling it in her arms.
Then there was the another conversation tonight when Sadie got out a Berenstain Bears book. She immediately turned to the story where Brother Bear outgrows his bed and Sister Bear is born. Towards the end there's a page where the tiny baby Sister Bear bops her brother in the nose with her fist. Sadie examined the page and then pointed to the picture:
Sadie: "What is the baby girl bear doing to her bear?"
Me: "She bopped him on the nose."
Sadie: "That's not nice."
Me: "No it's not. But sometimes little babies don't know that something that they're doing isn't nice." (we've talked about that a lot with Mae Bae) "Like tonight when Mae Bae threw her car and it hit you in the head."
Sadie: "And you told her no!"
Me: "Yup."
Sadie: "And then you said 'Margaret Rosella!'"
Sadie doesn't miss much these days...
ROFL! Amazing how they work things out in their heads. Little Tiger spent a bunch of time on my lap today and then went to bed without much fuss. Totally different from yesterday when it was so stressful that I wanted to escape!
ReplyDeleteSusi is definitely determined to have a little sister too. Two of them in fact...May God's will be done.
ReplyDeleteSo precious. So very precious.
ReplyDeleteHow are you holding up? I can't imagine how difficult things might be for you right now. I'm so sorry there is nothing I can do to help but I'll keep praying for you.
Hi Ann- Bedtime was easier for us last night too! It's such a relief when that happens! I try not to get my hopes up before bedtime because you never know... will it be a five minute bedtime, or a two hour bedtime!
ReplyDeleteHi Maria-(I've been meaning to email you!) I cannot wait to see pictures of Susi playing with a little sister (or brother) or two! Praying! And she just keeps getting more beautiful in every picture you post!
Hi Katherine- I'm doing better than I thought I would. Sadie and Mae make it difficult to be too sad and my attention is usually on them. I can't imagine what it would be like if I didn't have them though... or for women who've had miscarriage after miscarriage or battle IF... There are low moments, but it's gotten a little easier each day. And I feel like we've been so comforted by prayers and God's love these past couple of weeks...
