A Chance at a "New" Wardrobe!

I am so excited. Tomorrow is my last chance until next summer for a semi-new (new to me!) wardrobe! Labor Day Weekend is our county's County Wide Garage Sales. Last time we went to some of the nicer areas in town and, while I'd never thought of garage sale shopping as clothes shopping time, I ended up with an armload of perfectly good dresses and skirts (some with the tags still on them) for about six dollars. Since there aren't really any thrift shops in our area, this is definitely the way to go. Maybe I'll even find a few things from more modest eras!

I really want to learn how to sew clothing. I don't know why the idea seems so difficult. I quilt, knit and crochet. I tell myself that if I can knit pieces and make a sweater I should be able to figure out how to read a pattern and put a dress together. I've even cut the pieces for the dress I want to make (the patterns from the 50s and the skirt is huge! It takes 6 yards of fabric.). Now I need to buckle down and sew! Maybe now that I've written it here I'll actually do it!

Sadie's awake, so I have to run!
