Learning to Read

We've been slowly getting into learning to read.  Today Sadie sat and read to herself for about fifteen minutes.  I had to grab the camera:

Lately she's been interested in everything.  She loves my old science books, especially the ones about bugs or rocks and fossils.  She's obsessed with volcanoes, sine we drove by one on our cross country trip (and she knows that I grew up right next to one).  Earlier in the week she quoted Emerson to me, since we've been reading a lot of poetry (I read it line by line and she repeats after me.  And she memorizes it!).  It was funny to hear "If I cannot carry forests on my back, neither can you crack a nut!" from her little four year old mouth.  And then today she greeted me with "Salve Mama!" after our first latin lesson!  Now that she's old enough to get excited about learning, it's becoming so much fun!

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
