Groceries before the Storm

Today we needed groceries.  In all the cleaning and laundry and sewing and therapy and having the flu and getting things done (kind of) I'd been putting it off.  And then I saw that the cupboards were bare (and the fridge needed some desperate cleaning after our time away from home) and knew I couldn't put it off any longer.  So I made a list, clipped some coupons and headed to the store.

The parking lot was full.  Inside was insanity.  I slowly made my way down the aisles I needed to go down and then got to the front of the store and saw the lines.

Before that point I'd heard someone say:  "I've never seen a line that long in all my life."  But I hadn't thought much of it.  I should have.  Because a short while later I would look up and see a guy from the local news station snapping footage of us:

I'm in a red sweater right between the base of the M and the E.
I have a long, long way to go to get to the front of the store.
The picture I snapped and sent from my phone to my mom wasn't nearly as good, but it showed my point of view from that spot:

I'm still glad to have made it out with groceries though (quite a few people were giving up and leaving their stuff and walking out).  I'm ready for the storm. I hope.  As long as we don't lose power again that is!

And for anyone who's been wondering I have been keeping the house a little bit warmer!  Thank you all again!  The indiegogo site ended today and I'm still practically falling over every time I think about it!

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
