Walking in the Rain (Accidently!)

Today Sadie, Paul, Maggie and I went on a walk. When we started out it was a beautiful day.

I handed Sadie a giant leaf (which I later had to replace with two smaller leafs, because the first one had been loved to death) and she held it in her hands and dragged it through puddles and dropped it and cheered "Yay Daddy!" when Paul handed it back to her. After walking just under a mile and a half we turned and headed home and noticed that some big black clouds were beginning to cover up the chilly blue sky that had seemed so bright when we first started out. But it was still a beautiful day. And the girls were bundled against the cold (Maggie was in the Bob so she could be completely covered, but Sadie likes to be in the little open stroller so she can see everything around us).

About three long blocks from the house it started to sprinkle. We kept walking, picking up the pace a little bit. With one block left until home the sky opened up and it started to pour. And we went from walking quickly to running.

Sadie thought that being pushed at a run in her stroller in the rain was pretty much the funniest thing that had ever happened to her and giggle hysterically all the way home. So I did a little interview when we got home about what had happened and here's what she had to say:

And she now knows that she's two! For the longest time she insisted that she was still 1!

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
