What Never to Ask Your Serious Catholic Husband...

Today I learned never to ask my husband, who regularly goes to confession, if my behind looked big... I was guaranteed an (unfortunately?) honest answer.

In his defense he did try to turn it into a complement.

I love you too sweetie.

  3. LOL, my husband just gives me that look that says "Do you really expect me to answer that?"

  4. For Allison - I think women in general just don't understand how to FISH for compliments! :)

  5. A wise woman once told me- never ask a question that you either know the answer to or have an answer that you want given.

That being said- I love the drape in the skirt you are wearing in the picture at the top- what is the fabric? Did you make the skirt or buy it?

  6. That is so funny! Why do we put our hubbies between a rock and a hard place?

  7. Sure, clothe your lower limbs in slacks,
They are your legs, My Sweeting.
You look divine as you advance.
    Have you seen yourself retreating?

  8. Paul has been insisting all afternoon: "It really was a complement!"

And the skirt at the top of the page is actually a "cover up" from Old Navy. It's just made out of knit cotton (t-shirt material). I was desperate to get something to wear to my grandmother's funeral, but all the black dresses I could find were so short, that I finally opted for this with a sweater over it. And it has definitely become a favorite!

  9. But many men like big behinds! That's how women were made (at least, some women not all). The problem sometimes is that we don't like our bodies but our husbands are satisfied and don't want to give an answer which is contrary to how they feel, even if we don't agree with it.

  10. Hi Anonymous-
I think your answer was along the lines of what he was thinking too!

  11. I know what I'm thinking. Why was this post so unlike all your others, Cam? In the past whenever you posted something even mildly controversial you included a picture and asked your readers' opinion.

  12. LOL! He suggested that too. I didn't want to traumatize y'all too much though!

  13. Cam, I can guarantee at least one of your female readers is carrying significantly more behind her than you are :-)

My husband's response to a similar question was "yes, and I couldn't love it more!".

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
