Making a List...

We're doing our Thanksgiving Food shopping today and I just finished my list.  When Paul and I were dating I made Thanksgiving dinner (not on Thanksgiving) for him, using recipes I'd gotten from that year's Real Simple magazine.  A few other recipes have been added in, but this year I'm going to use, for the most part, recipes from that first year.

And here's the list so far...  I still need to call Nani to get the recipe for her blackberry jello dessert.  But I think everything else is there!

Green Bean Casserole
Rolls (my sweet rolls using lemon lime soda!)
Apple Cider

Parsley
Celery
Yellow Onions
Garlic
3 Granny Smith Apples
5 lbs sweet potatoes
5 lbs potatoes

Turkey

Kosher Salt
Flour
Molasses
Corn Bread Mix

Mint Jelly
Canned Corn
Green Beans
French Fried Onions
Cream of Mushroom Soup

Lemon Lime Soda

Unsalted Butter (2)
Salted Buter (2)
Sour Cream
Heavy Cream
Cream Cheese (3)
Milk

12 oz bag cranberries

  2. I wrote my list today, too. My 3 sons will be home for Thanksgiving, but my 2 daughters will be here with us in spirit. It sounds like your family will have a fine day. A happy and blessed Thanksgiving to the 4 of you!

  3. Aw, I'm so jealous you guys still have a thanksgiving to celebrate. Ours was like a month ago. :( Be sure to let us all know how it goes!

At any rate, I thought you might want to know you were mentioned here: http://auditorandagentleman.blogspot.com/2011/11/new-kind-of-spam-hitbots.html

I know some people kid of like to be told when they're talked about.

  4. Your list looks really yummy! It has so many of my favorites.

I always end up traveling for Thanksgiving and didn't end up making an early "Thanksgiving" meal for friends, so this year I'm just in charge of Cranberry Sauce and an allergen free dessert. (We have a family member who can't have gluten or eggs and I am the only one who really does any "alternative" cooking).

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

  6. Just bought my own Thanksgiving stuff. Got 8, 12oz bags of cranberries. Then again, I'm trying to make enough cranberry sause to feed 85 people at one meal and 15 at another. I might just have enough. LOL

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
