Today's Head Covering of the Week is my favorite winter hat. I decided I'd posted so many snood pictures this week (because I'm wearing it so much!) that I would go with something a little different today. This hat really eased the transition when I started covering my head at Mass. I felt like I stood out so much in my white mantilla, and when winter came around it didn't seem to match anything! So I picked this hat up at Target. I felt like I blended in so much more and when spring came around again I was so comfortable covering my head (and I knew that everyone expected it, instead of being surprised) that I could switch back and forth between hats and veils without dealing with any sort of nervousness! Lately I've been wearing my veils more frequently (they fit into a diaper bag more easily!) but I do go through hat weeks where I tend to favor hats! It just depends on my mood.
