I am glad to be home at the moment. Last night was another night in the ER (but at least I got home earlier than in the past!). After 48 hours of migraine I couldn't take it anymore and went in. If you've read here long, then you likely know my distrust of hospitals and know that it had to be pretty bad to break down and walk through the ER doors. And it was amazing. One IV and the migraine was gone. So now I have a referral to see a neurologist, because apparently three migraines a week is just way too many (yes, yes it is!). I'm just glad to be able to think again and not to feel like I'm being stabbed in the eye! It would be very nice if we could figure these out!
And really, I'm ready to be done blogging about health related anything! I've had more trips to the hospital in the last six months than I'd had in my entire life before we moved to Florida!
Perhaps you're allergic to Florida? Or at least something in Florida.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about a natural medicne doctor? It wouldn't surprise me if these weren't neurologically related migraines, but hormone related. Or even being adjusted chiropractically might relieve them, your body's been through a horrible ordeal, it might just need some help to get back to status quo? Anyway, everything you've described on your blog are things my mother and I have been treated for naturally and connected hormone issues.
ReplyDeleteOH MY! What a lot of trouble you have been through. I'm glad that you will be seeing a neurologist.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand, migraines are the WORST!
ReplyDeleteWow! Glad you are feeling better, but I'm dying to know what was in that IV?!?
ReplyDeleteCam!! I'm so glad you're alright - and I probably wore you out yesterday with all my talking. Please let me know if you need ANYTHING!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you are home and feeling better! I too am a migraine sufferer & know the pain! I wish you luck with the neurologist!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! I have suffered from horrific migraines since I was about 6 years old. It is pure torture! May I offer a bit of advice? First, the second you feel one coming on take something. If you wait until ya bad it will e too late. I would also suggest a doctor with a more natural approach if you can. Hormones are a huge cause of migraines. So is thyroid. Not to mention food intollerences. Perhaps you have a gluten allergy you aren't aware of. There are some good preventative meds out there as well as good ones to stop the pain but majority of them can't be taken why pregant/nursing or even trying to get pregnant.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you're going through this! Prayers coming your way.

I am so sorry to read you are still having troubles and so happy to hear you are okay! I am praying for you.
ReplyDeletei have also suffered from migraines since about the spring of the year 2000.... i am quite familiar with the dreaded routine of home meds not owrking and winding up the ER for intractable migraine( one that just wont quit) been hospitalized for up to almost 2 weeks with a constant migraine where i could find NO RELIEF if i was conscious! i was having them a couple times a week too...last year my sponsor in the Catholic church recommend a local chiropractor, I started going right away and i only have these headaches once or twice a month now and when i get them the adjustments always help more than meds, and on a side note the evaluation i got from the chiro was the most complete i had gotten since seeing a neurologist back in 2000. My headaches presented as migraine but were also tension headaches a combo !!!which made them much harder to beat. i hope you are able to get your life back to normal soon!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling a little better and that you have a direction to go! I will pray for answers and healing.
ReplyDeleteHi Cam,
ReplyDeletePobre criatura, I hope you can find some resolution to your migraines. That must be so tough! I saw your pinterest for "Things I'd like to learn." I think I just got inspired for some blog post tutorials. Too bad I didn't see it earlier, because I just made up a batch of flour tortillas earlier...The hard part is taking the pictures with flour all over your hands half the time.
