Patrick's Favorite Song

So... Patrick has a favorite song.

When he hears it he laughs hysterically.  It's apparently the funniest thing in Patrick's entire world.

I'll admit I was a little surprised by his choice...

And this is the song (The video wouldn't stop playing so I linked to another version!).

  1. Nit picking...but the William Tell Overture isn't a song. A song involves singing. It's an orchestral piece. In this case it's part of an opera (which does involve singing, but I wouldn't call those songs either. You usually refer to them by their form: recitative is fast talking-like and arias are lyrical.)

He has nice taste. There are better youtube versions of the overture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7O91GDWGPU

Sorry. It's one of the first things that I learned in undergrad. If you're a musician, you sound uneducated calling orchestral works "songs." Most people don't know that though.

If anyone wants to play it safe, the most generic term you can use is "musical piece" or "piece of music."

I know I'm sounding way too nit picky. Just figured someone as smart as you are would like to know.

  3. Oh my, this is the favorite of a certain Little Bear who lives in my house! We sing as we pat him on the back for a burp this:

Getta burp, getta burp, getta burp burp burp...

    to this music.

    LOVE this piece of music.

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
