C-Section...

Here's the latest for those of you not on facebook... After laboring all day (33 hours now...) and trying pretty much everything (walking the halls, birthing ball...) baby is still at -2 and 5 cm (all day long).  They think he's really, really big...  So they just ordered c-section #3.

We tried it naturally.  We tried with a little bit of pitocin.  We  tried with a lot of pitocin and no epidural.  We finally tried an epidural (since that is when I dilated with Sadie.  Nothing got labor to progress... so....

I'm pretty at peace with this though.  I feel like everyone did everything they could.  The nurses and doctors have been so awesome.  They've really tried to make this work!  Now to meet Patrick.

Prayers are appreciated!

  2. You gotta do what you gotta do! Thank God for Western medicine! As a fellow C section mom, I shudder to think what might have happened without Cesareans. I would not be a mom to my three living children. Praise God I was born in the 20th century! Praying for an uneventful delivery and a beautiful, healthy baby! All the best.

  3. I'm disappointed that you didn't get your VBAC, but the point of it all is having a healthy baby. As your water had broken, it seems as if the decision was made for you.

Here's praying that little Patrick is soon in your arms!

    God bless!

  7. Ah, well. It is meant to be. Glad you are getting the care you need! A C Section is no failure! Don't let anyone suggest otherwise.

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
