Head Covering of the Week

I've been doing Outfits of the Week for a few months and today decided to start doing a"Head Covering of the Week."

This one is one of my favorites because it stays in place without pins and I don't have to worry about it slipping off my head. Paul bought it for me in Bethlehem, when we were visiting the West Bank while I was pregnant (and very sick), and bought it from a woman selling scarves on the street. We had just visited the Church of the Nativity and were rushing back to the bus.

And it matches Sadie's holiday dress for this year (and her coat too!)!

  4. I really like this. I think it is so beautiful. I have been wanting to try this but I get embarrassed that others would make fun of me :(

  5. Hi Everyone-
Since I posted this post I've thought so much about head covering (for more than just Mass and prayer)! It's really been positive! I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet and am thinking about waiting until my husband and I make our move to his next school... on the other hand I'm pretty sure once I've given it a lot of thought and prayer I won't want to wait. I will probably be much more discreet during the week I think!

I was so nervous when I started covering at Church- about what people would say, but so far I've only gotten complementary comments. I do get a few weird looks when I wear this one, I think because the color stands out so much! But what can I say, I love reds!

I love comments and I read every single comment that comes in (and I try to respond when the little ones aren't distracting me to the point that it's impossible!). Please show kindness to each other and our family in the comment box. After all, we're all real people on the other side of the screen!
